I gave up on that a long time ago. I'm not going to sell any of them, so why bother?

well I managed to keep all the boxes that my cars have come in....I have bought a few w/o boxes though. Alot of people are picky about not having a box when it comes time to sell them. If you have the room I would say keep them..I would definitly consider keeping a box for a limited run type of corvette...I have over 200 boxes stuffed in my attic..

I did for awhile but they just take up to much room and like someone else said I ain't selling them. Several months ago I set 146 1/18 scale boxes out for trash collection. :yesnod:

Well, it seems that the only way to differentiate some of these cars is to display them in their original boxes. Seems that some of the artwork is better than the cars themselves.........

I have a few of my boxes, but I can most of them as well. Expecially these Maisto, Welly, Bburago type of cars. I definitely keep my Exoto boxes and Franklin Mints too.

I keep the Franklin Mint and Auto Art boxes or any that I think I might sell later on. But, most of the boxes are in the trash.

I hold on to 'em. You say that you never plan to sell them, but sometimes things don't go as planned. I'd say that many of us have collections worth several thousand dollars. Mine has to me somewhere between $8K-$10K. If something ever happened were I was hurting for money, my collection would sell for twice as much if I have the boxes compared to if I didn't. That's a fact. If you have the room, keep 'em. If you don't have the room, keep the more expensive ones. Just a suggestion. Not everyone has the means.

By the way, for those of you with good, high paying jobs, I used to think that I would never be hurting for money, but I know a guy who was a VP in a good company who was really raking it in. He lost his job and has been out of work for about 9 months now. Needless to say, he's been hurting for money lately, and it's been tough to find a job in his pay range or anywhere near it without taking a substantial pay cut.

Just food for thought. Sorry to be a downer. :cry

I thought the same way once. But you never know if your taste will change, if you need the money, ect .....

I save some of the more high end stuff but as others have said just ditch the $10 car boxes.

If you have the space keep em at least this way you have them, once they are tossed oh well

I keep my boxes for no other reason then as a place to keep the bases cause I don't display the cars on their bases. LOL!
