Re: Couple of "rare" 1/18 corvettes for sale on Ebay>>> (SPAZ)
The convention car is a Hot Wheel's car and is truly rare. I wouldn't pay a penny over $30 for it though. "It's just not my bag baby"
The other one looks like a Burago POS that has been modified by hand, but I could be wrong. If it is, I would buy it for $3 just so I can take a hammer to it and put it out of it's misery.

My Grandmother always told me "If you can't say something good ...Don't say anything at all!" These both are quite Rare cars and are definately worth alot more than you say to a true diecast collector. Although they are not the kind of replica I collect ,they surely are worth alot more than you or I would be willing to pay. Don't knock someones post when they are offering sometrhing that some one may be interested in.Spaz has one of the most complete collection of 1:18 Corvettes of any one I know and has alot of the Rare Collectibles that some people would give a right arm for. :chill:

I apologise if I offended anyone, but what is this forum for if it's not for posting opinions and information. Is this just a forum for patting each other on the back?
Your message suggests that SPAZ is actually the seller of those two items which I didn't realize, but if he is, I believe that it IS frowned upon to try to sell things on this forum, is it not? I don't see anyone complaining about that.
Anyway, I'm still assuming he is not the seller since his placing the word "rare" in quote marks (on the subject line) suggests sarcasm, not to mention two "Puke" smileys in the post.
Regardless, I suppose I should just keep my opinions to myself. If any of you are looking to purchase an item on eBay and want to know if it's worth it from a quality perspective, and I happen to know that the cars are crap, I won't post my opinion since I'd have nothing nice to say. That way you unknowningly can bid on an extremely expensive convention car that is really rare, but has no better quality than the normal Hotwheels '69 Corvette.
My sincere apologies to SPAZ if those are his eBay postings. Like I said, I'll keep my opinions to myself.
Re: Couple of "rare" 1/18 corvettes for sale on Ebay>>> (Leos 81)
Hey, don't sweat the comments. I agree with you. Those cars may be "rare" but it doesn't mean "we" think they are worth the money. I know that the Hotwheels car is rather expensive and hard to come by now. I had bid on a few of them, never won, when they first came out because they were just too expensive. The $120 price isn't out of the orbit, but more about normal for this car. But, given all the other 69 Hotwheels cars that are identical, I wouldn't pay that much for it now. Hind sight working 20/20 now.
I wont much discuss that other POS Bburago car either. I don't care who it is made for, by, issued against or what not. Still the same POS car it was before the "decals".......
If you have to have these cars to complete your collection, then ignore us naysayers and bid high and bid often. Otherwise, pass on it and save your money for better cars worthy of hard earned money.
Maybe I'll stick a few "tampos" on some CRAP cars and number them "1" of "100" and then sell them for a mint on Ebay....... I'm sure I could get a few folks to fund my next 1:1 Corvette purchase with that idea..... :seeya
Re: Couple of "rare" 1/18 corvettes for sale on Ebay>>> (Leos 81)
Guys...opinons are just what they are...opinons....Its funny to see what people think about certain diecast cars. Ive been a serious corvette collector for 4 yrs now. I can go buy any type of diecast off of the shelf in the costco or toyrus and stores like that but I choose to collect the more rare cars. Yes both cars are rare. The Burago cars sucks. The quality is less than toy like but, I chose to collect limited cars. I like imprinted cars. The Burago came from a German company who applied silk screening on the car and made up a new box. It was some sort of company promo. I can almost bet you have never seen one up close. I have all the common color cars that you can buy at a close out store and enjoy them but, not as well as all the tampo cars I have. There is a market for these cars trust me I know. Like I said I dont get offended but neg opinons. This is a forum and thats what forums are for. I would love to show pics of my collection and give anyone knowledge of limited cars. I know one thing a true diecast collector knows what has value and what doesnt....I collect for fun and collectable vaule. Oh, Im sorry if i offended anyone by using this forum as a cheap ebay plug also...I stand corrected on that. PS I dont know why the "puke faces" appeared LOL!!!!!!!!
Re: Couple of "rare" 1/18 corvettes for sale on Ebay>>> (SPAZ)
Again Jeff. I apologise if I offended you. My original post was not meant to be malicious or anything. And I realize that opinions are like behind*****, everyone has one... that's why I added that it was "not my bag, baby". Rare diecasts are cool. I like them too, but I prefer cars that look like cars we see on the streets. I'm not a big fan of tampo cars like the World Series Corvettes by Ertl. Again, not my bag, baby. That's what makes collecting so great. You can collect what you like and in the end (as if there is an end to collecting), your collection is exactly what you want it to be. That's why I'm not buying cars for your collection and vise versa. Don't get me wrong by the way, I have quite a few cars that would only rate a 4 or 5 on a scale of 1 to 10. Those are mostly from when I just first started collecting. For the last two years or so, I have stuck to higher quality diecasts, or diecasts that I really like... probably since I'm running out of room.
Oh, and I don't mind at all when people post eBay links. I was just mentioning that because I had been called out for doing something that wasn't against forum rules, yet no one mentions anything when other forum rules are broken. Then again, that may not be a rule anymore. Who knows. I actually welcome it since it gives me a chance to get something I may not have seen on eBay myself. In cases where I already knew about the auction, then I don't like it because I don't want to pay more than I have to. ;) competition isn't good for my pocketbook. :nonod:
