I am new here, having just found this forum. I have a few diecast Corvettes, and have heard that GMP is making a highly detailed version of the car Dale Earnhardt drove at Daytona in 2001.
Does anyone have any information on when this will be released, and how it will be priced? I emailed GMP a couple weeks ago, but have not gotten a response.
Thanks in advance. This looks like a fun place to hang out.

The model looks good...but for $599.00 it should have been "LIKE" the one Dale drove...this model is the wrong wide body C5-R..IE 2003 not 2001...Dale's car also didn't sport the 3 green Le Mans running lights...and a few other things.
Hope this helps :yesnod:

They originally announced a different (I think 2002) C5R, maybe this Dale version pictured is just a prototype based on the 2002. I can forgive AutoArt's minor mistakes on a $60 car, but for $600 the thing better be damn near perfect.

For $600+, their should be a key in the ignition that actually starts the darn thing. I mean that thing should have a running engine that needs oil changes and everything. It looks like it's too far from it anyway, why not go the whole way.

Thanks to all that responded. I heard from another source that this car had been cancelled and the deal with Action/DEI fell through. I still have had no response from GMP on my inquiry though, so this is probably just a bad rumor. At least I hope it is just a bad rumor.
