I've got a gold '53 on Ebay right now if you're interested, item #1762257301. I like all of the 50th Vettes that are out now, except the '54. It's light blue with a red interior!

I have two 67 Gold Chase Cars. Claim they only made 500. Do you think they are going to be a car to hang on to as far as going up in value? Chuck

But still no early C-4's with the L-98, A 35th anniversary ed. or 86 Pace car should have been the choice instead of the 84.

A local hobby shop has a couple of the 50th's - a '53 and a '62 (silver / red interior), but in my somewhat limited experience, their prices seem a little high. What would you think these should be worth?

Thanks, how do you tell the hobby editions? The price at this shop is $34.95 CDN (about $22 US, depending on the exact exchange rate), so that seems OK.

The reason I thought their prices seem high is that they are asking $112.95 CDN (about $71 US) for the AUTOart '57 SS and $349.95 (about $220 US) for the EXOTO '64 Grand Sports.

The Hbby editions will say hobby right on the box. They also have a tool box and fender covers. The Exoto's were just on sale on their web site for $98.00. $220 is way to much. Just shop around you will find a deal. The Carousel 1 were going for $50.00. They are a very nicely detailed diecast also. Happy Collecting :D

It would depend on which Exoto GS that is for sale. If it is any of the numbered cars I would definitely over priced. But the very first prototype GS as limited to 5K cars and still sells for more than original retail now. But, like anything else on the planet, it is only worth what you are willing to pay for it.

EXOTO for $98! I'm sorry I missed that sale! How long ago was that?

Wiseman2 mentioned in a different thread that EXOTO goes on sale sometimes, but I have only been looking for a couple of weeks. I guess I'll have to be patient until next time.

The Exoto "standox editions" just came off sale. It ended in on Sept 3 and they were only $98. I didn't post it because I have been gone for the last couple weekends going up to watch my Florida State Seminoles play ball. Looks like a tough year. Anyway, I work midnights at check Exoto's site about everyday. I will post if there is another sale. If you get on their e-mail list you will get e-mails on the sales and what dates they run through.

D'OH!!!

I've signed up now to receive their "EXOTOeNews", but if I had thought to check it out when you first mentioned instead of just looking at the GS pages (where there was no mention of the sale), I'd have one by now. I feel like a real maroon. :bb

If there was no mention of the sale, then you missed it. If they are having a sale a window will pop up when you enter the site, but if you are browsing the catalog it will be marked down there too. I saw the first GS sale, thought about buying one, and by the time I got back to order one it was over. The Standox sale was really short too, maybe three or four days.

Unfortunately the Exoto sales seem to only last between 3-5 days.

Well, added the silver 62 with the red inter to the collection the other day. That came from K-mart.....also saw 4 of the trailers with the 5 cars. Didn't get that....just don't want the 1/64's any longer.
