Default Ontario Orange 1/24 scale Maisto 1970 Corvette

Hi guys.

I own a Maisto 1/24 scale 1970 Corvette in Ontario Orange, and I now bring it to your attention, because you may want to get one for yourself !

The interesting thing is that for 1970, Ontario Orange appeared in the list of available colours in the sales literature, but the painting method could not be readied on time, so for 1970 this colour was cancelled, and those who ordered an Ontario Orange Corvette ended up getting a Corvette Bronze Corvette instead. The Ontario Orange colour was made available for 1971. The Ontario Orange colour is most common, seen most often on 1972 Corvettes. However, a 1970 Ontario Orange Corvette has been discovered, the only 1970 Corvette known to be made of this colour. The one and only 1970 Ontario Orange Corvette is a T-top coupe with the LT-1 engine. This is a pilot car, a 1970 Corvette built in 1969, when 1969 Corvettes were still being built.

The 1/24 scale car made by Maisto is a 1970 Corvette with the L46 350cid, 350hp engine. Of the two available colours chosen by Maisto, interestingly, one of them is the never produced Ontario Orange. The other is Bridgehampton Blue. I know it is Bridgehampton Blue, and not Mulsanne Blue, because it is the darker blue, which is Bridgehampton. The real 1970 Ontario Orange Corvette is an LT-1, but the Ontario Orange 1970 Corvette by Maisto is an L46. Therefore, if you buy a Maisto Ontario Orange 1970 Corvette, you will grab a 1970 Corvette that never was !

I own a Maisto 1/24 scale Ontario Orange 1970 Corvette. Mine is in sealed box, never out of the box. The pics are stock pics, but mine is mint in sealed box.

In order to ensure that it is indeed Ontario Orange, I took out my Danbury Mint 1/43 scale Ontario Orange 1972 Corvette from the 50 years set, and I compared it with my Maisto model, and it is indeed the same Ontario Orange colour.

Just wanted to bring this car to your attention, in case any of you would like to have the 1970 Ontario Orange Corvette that never was !

That sounds cool! I have the same DM '72 and I own a 1:1 scale Ontario Orange '72. Would love to find one of these '70's anyways as I am an avid die cast collector.

Thanks for sharing!
