Definitely do-able - but to make life easy, why not track down an Ertl Z06 and just swap out entire the chassis?
Should be tons of them on 'that auction' site...

If for no other reason - the Auto Art deserves better than just being a donor...

good luck - geo

It's definitely easier to keep within the same brand. I tried with three of the cheaper brands to get wheels from one onto one of the other two. The problem is the way the wheels mount is quite different. Some of the wheels I've seen have brakes in and part of the wheel and some have them separate. The mounting of these wheels to an axle like part and suspension varies very much too. I was going to have to custom make mountings for the wheels if I gone through with it. I changed my mind on the wheels I wanted so I didn't go further though.

Autoart is much better quality and should be saved. I agree with the others...find another Ertl and swap out.
