The current 1:64 Corvettes in stores (September 09)
I collect mainly 1:64 scale since the cars them selves are cheaper and I can store them easier. So I'm just letting you guys know what I'm finding out there. If anyone has any they are seeing to add to this then by all means please do. What I'm finding is of course for my local Los Angeles area.
- Matchbox Gold colored C6 ZR1. I thought this one was interesting. Are there plans for a real one in gold or is this just a matchbox thing? So far they've pretty much done the real colors on their other versions already out there, blue, red, and silver.
About $1.
- Hot Wheels has a series called "Faster Than Ever" and number 9 is a pretty wicked looking satin orange colored C6 ZR1 with a black hood.
About $1.
- Hot Wheels has a HW logo'd blue C6R that looks pretty cool. Could be a cool donor to customizing your favorite actual C6R racer or just leave it as is.
About $1.
- Hot Wheels - Cop Rods series has a '80s Corvette cop car. #4 of 26. This is a C4 cop car. Looks pretty cool in person too.
About $3-5.
- Greenlight SPEED Channel series has a Pinks All Out 2008 Z06. As always Greenlight's detail is amazing for a 1:64 scale car.
About $3-5.
- Greenlight Muscle Car Garage Hobby Collection has a nice blue 1968 L88 Corvette. This one comes with the little tool box. I'm not seeing this one as much now.
About $3-5.
- Greenlight Country Roads series has a 1962 Corvette Convertible. This one is cool because it has a miss-matched colored hood and door. I'm not seeing this one around as much either now but it shows up here and there still.
About $3-5.
UPDATE 10/08/09:
- Floridasky also found this C6 blue vert floating around now too. I've actually seen these in two packs which are usualy up near the registers in the candy isle sections.
About $1-2.
- EVIL_C5 also found that Greenlight has a 2006 Z06 in a Black Bandit series that is different then the 2008 Z06 in the Corvette Black Bandit series.
About $3-5.
I also found a new Greenlight series. It's called Motor World and there is a 1957 racer in the series. This series comes in a cardboard backed packaging unlike the other Greenlights which come in plastic packaging. I hope Greenlight is not doing this from here on.
About $3-5.
- I haven't seen it for myself but I want to find one of these new Greenlight Black Bandit 2008 C6.R Corvettes.
UPDATE 10/12/09:
- Hot Wheels 2009 Mystery Car series has a C2 Corvette Grand Sport. It's in those packages with the black plastic and you can't see inside. You can commonly see them ripped open and people leave them if it's not the one you want. I found a couple cool ones ripped open that I just bought anyway but never say a Corvette ripped open. I had to buy 5 closed ones at various times before I got this Corvette. It's the only Corvette in the 2009 Mystery Series but look below for the 2010 Mystery Corvette.
- nhisfan has found Hot Wheels has released the 2010 cars in some ares and there is a 2010 Mystery Car series '65 Corvette Convertible. Just a tip from nhisfan, the Mystery car packages now have a little peep whole in the back.
In a couple Toys R Us I'm still seeing the Greenlight Black Bandit series Corvettes. This was a series of 6 blacked out Corvette spanning C1-C6.
I'm sad to report that Greenlight seems to no longer be on shelves in Target. They still have the Hot Wheels specialty cars and the NASCAR related cars that ran around the same price though. I haven't been to a Walmart or Kmart in a while to see if they still sell them. I know Toys R Us still has plenty though.
For Hot Wheels there is a good Hot Wheels Wiki page with some nice info on dates and photos of the cars.
Thanks a lot PostShawn........I'm only missing 6 out of those 7 now.....
Went to K-mart tonight after seeing this & I found the '62!! We have a little problem here in Omaha, and I wonder if it's unique. There's a big hot wheels collector club in town & they like to wipe out the shelves of the good 1:64 cars from every Wal-Mart/K-mart/Target etc. on an almost daily basis. Then four or five times a year they have these little shows where they sell their stuff & try and rape non-club members like me. I don't bite anymore, but it sure makes it tough to find the Cop rods/Easter egg-clusives/Holiday hot rods type Corvettes.....
thats one of the main reasons I stopped trying to collect newer hot wheels, they have inside people that work at the stores and get to pick thru the boxes to get the treasure hunts and the hard to find cars and leave the crap.
also, the black bandit series was from last summer, they did a z06 in a series of muscle cars, and then a c1-c6 set along with a 1:24 scale z06 that I found.

I didn't realize there was a Z06 from another series. I kept seeing it around but thinking it was left over from the Corvette BB series. Nice find!
I will try and get some pics....but its pretty far down on my list....
if 68ragtop69 would come over and help me finish my beer drinking patio and mat some posters, my list would be allot shorter!
I found a picture online and added it for the regular Black Bandit series. I also found the latest series has a C6R Black Bandit. I've added that but haven't seen it in person yet. I also added the 6 combo picture of the previous Black Bandit Corvette collection at the bottom of the original post.

Just found this one today. Brand new out of an early 2010 Hot Wheels case. 2010 Mystery Car series '65 Corvette Convertible...
Helpful hint - Mattel finally listened to all the retailer's complaints of the black blister packs being ripped open,
so now the 2010 'Mystery' packages have a little 'peep hole' on the back of the card!

Awesome find! I found a 2009 Mystery C2 Corvette Grand Sport this weekend too which I posted a picture of. I added you pictures and info to the first post in the newest update.
I'm glad there are other's that like these smaller and cheaper cars. They are so much easier to collect since you can go to so many retail stores and find them and they won't break the bank leaving you money to still mod your real life ride. Thanks for everyone's posts and other finds.

Found another new one today in a Hot Wheels 10 pack.
I don't usually buy the 10 packs, but I couldn't wait to add this one to my collection - for obvious reasons...
I was just getting ready to strip and repaint one of the blue ones to make a mini-me, but now all I've got to do is repaint the interior - it even has Z06 wheels...
I'm sure this will be out in a single blister pack soon...
1996 Red/black/black LT4 convertible with a couple of mods
1969 Camaro RS/SS 427 Convertible
1996 Yellow/black/black LT4 convertible (1 of 11 made)
1995 ZR-1, white with red interior (1 of 13 made)
It's getting hard to find the GS mystery car. The C2 vert though is in or coming to most stores now. It's got a peep whole in the back this season. You can see the #10 in on the side of the car through the hole. I just found one this week. The GS is just by luck, or finding one in a ripped package. I've never seen one in a ripped package, only the cars nobody wants.
