Two 1/12 Scale `69 Cross Ram Camaro Z/28`s...sorry, not a vette
It`s been a while since I posted in here, so again, if anyone wants me to stop posting these, please let me know. Everyone here has appreciated all these so far, so I will share my two latest creations.
Sorry, it`s not a Corvette though.
These are two build-ups of the Monogram 1/12 Z/28 kit, with alot of detail and scratch building added. My goal again was to create these as new from factory as you might see them on the showroom floor. The license plate, inspection sticker, registration, and dealer window sticker were all reduced versions of the real thing from 1969. The Model Car Garage photo-etch detail set was added. I also added brakes lines, wound springs, and aluminum exhaust tubing. I tried to simulate accurate labels and chalk markings on the firewall, exhaust, axle, and front and rear springs, as well as other spots on the chassis. "Lettering" was added to the ignition wires and heater hoses, and any other hose or wire I found on the engine that could use it. Simulated wood was painted on the dash, steering wheel, and center console with a very small brush. The interior was flocked for an accurate carpeted look. Both of them were painted with many coats of color and clear lacquer (I forget how many, but ALOT), and then wet-sanded and rubbed out with three different grades of compound. Bare metal foil was used throughout.
Once again, the orange will be going on Ebay since I am poor and just married.
I hope you enjoy! Please let me know what you think!
Nice work
Wish I could do that.
How much do you expect the orange one to sell for?
Thanks!
My past few 1/12 scale Corvettes and one 1/12 Camaro sold for between $525 and $575 from memory. We will see though. Hard to predict with the current economic situation.
Amazing work, with incredible attention to detail. I have been collectiing diecast cars for over a decade, mostly 1:18 (over 500) but have about a dozen 1:12 90% of my collection NIB. It is very to see the current state of the diecast hobby dying each month, but I have now moved onto collecting watches. Again, thanks for posting such amazing pic's that I will never get tired of seeing. Good luck on your Ebay sales.
Mark
Amazing work, talent, and attention to detail.
I never get tired of seeing your models.
Keep on posting.
Newly married. Remember this, They say Love id Blind, but Marriage will open your eyes!

Awesome work. If it weren't for the driveway cracks and your garage door in the photo, you'd be hard pressed to tell that these were models. The 3/4 rear shot of the orange one just before the interior pics looks absolutely real. The black and orange rear 3/4 side by side would pass for real as well.
The weather was nice today, so I decided to take some more pics, since I wasn`t happy with the way the others turned out.
BTW, you guys who have been watching my threads and have wanted one of these but didn`t like the price, I am probably going to ask about $100 less for this one since there are some small "specs" in the paint at the very front of the driver`s side stripe. You need to be within about a foot and have the right lighting to see it, but I can`t ask $575 or whatever it was that I got for the other one. It still displays very well in person though.
Here are some more pics:
And a pic of the imperfection...hard to capture with the camera, but it is there.

DAMN! That Bad Boy looks like it's ready for you to get in and go for a drive.
I would like an E-Bay link also if it's no problem.
