Default How many of you keep your boxes?

It has got to a point that there is no room left. So do most of you keep your boxes or toss them ??

I hate to hear when people throw out their boxes. There are always other collectors looking for boxes. Advertise them here or on Ebay, I can just about guarantee you'll get rid of them as long as they're not beat up.

But when you eventually run out of room what do you do? I didn't buy these with intent to sell at a later date but who knows sometime in the future you might as you never know.
I don't keep them in the boxes because I can't enjoy viewing them as that's what I purchased them for and the boxes with cars take up even more space that is visible in the house.

I keep the boxes to the higher end diecasts(Auto Art,Carosel1,Exoto,and even some Ertls),but not the Maisto,Mira,Bburago types as they will never be worth the price you paid for them anyway.I doubt that any will be worth the MSRP again as most everything has lost value big time lately.I bought mine for my enjoyment ,not for collectibility so I could care less. When I die my grandsons will probably just play with them.

I have several Maitso that I customized for the color combos I wanted so those boxes are gone. The last few cars I bought are still in the boxes because I ran out of room in my display case Just depends on the expected value I guess

I also only keep the higher end boxes. Most of them I just dont really have the room for and i keep telling myself if I have to start putting stuff in my attic, I am becoming a packrat.

Yes that can be done but I have alot of lane boxes, GMP boxes for GNX and Grand National, Precision 100 boxes, ERTL Limited series boxes, Shelby boxes, Peachstate etc. Lots of higher end boxes.

It's too overwhelming will not pay for extra storage. Have so many boxes if and when the time comes to put them back into box it will be a project just trying to match the correct car to correct box.
