Default Wanted - Maisto Z16 wheels...

Hi folks -

I would like to find a set of 1:18 scale Maisto polished aluminum Z06 wheels from a Z16 model.

I would take the whole model - condition of the model is not important, just wanting to update the replica of my 2002 EB Z06 to the current spec. of my 1:1.

If someone has a Z16 model and wants to trade, I have a couple of models for trade - Electron Blue 02 Z06, Specter Werkes black Z06 with silver stripes and special wheels. Both new in box.

best regards -

I don't believe Maisto did a z16,I know Auto Art and Ertl/Racing Champions did though and both appear to be Chrome plated.I do have both of them sitting in front of me.All orf the Maisto ZO6's are painted silver wheels.I might consider selling the Ertl if they would work. Here is one on e-bay...

what color are the wheels on the black specter werkes z06?

i have an ertl z16 that is extra, the mirrors are broken off, it came in a lot of cars i bought so i was going to put it on my desk at work, but it already looks like a playground here.

Hi Evil -

The wheels on the SW car are silver - They are just like the wheels on the Guldstrand car, except they are silver.

Nice looking wheels actually.

Mirrors off are not a problem - let me know if you would like to do a trade.

thanks and best regards -

Hi Bob -

Thanks for the link -

I am not sure how the Ertl wheels will work on a Maisto either - I made maisto wheels work on an Auto Art model, so at least I can gove it a look.

Another option might be the new "chrome" paint I have seen at Wal Mart -

thanks for the info - EVIL_C5 has a "scratch and dent" Ertl that he is sending me to try the wheel swap with.

Thanks again!

best regards -

If you mean the Krylon Original Chrome, don't bother. It's great if you want a very smooth, shiny silver look, but it's not even close to chrome. I keep a can handy though because it gives a great finish on exhaust pieces, manifolds, and wheels that I want a nice aluminum look on.

Hi 7Vette -

Yes - that's the stuff!

It might look like polished aluminum with clear coat?

Thanks for the info!

best regards -

Glad to help. You'd think with all the technology available someone would be able to come up with something in a spray can that comes close to real chrome. It's not like it would put all the chrome platers out of business. I've heard Alclad looks close, but I believe it's for airbrushing.

Hi Brian -

I received the Z16 model today - it is in great shape!

Thanks for the Adam's detailer spray and DVD, too!

I love that stuff - I will order from you when I run out of my current bottle, and I know I will be needing metal polish soon as well.

Thanks again - that was a nice surprise!

best regards -

sorry it took so long, between my job and the Adams stuff, I usually try and get a 30 hour day into a 24 hour one.
