Hello,
I am living in Montreux (Switzerland) and have been a Corvette fan since I was little boy; in fact, probably since I saw Bill Bixby and his Corvette in the Magician.
Since about 20 years, I am collecting diecast models and I have now around 850 cars. The "government".....my wife! has allowed me to have some of them exposed in the front entrance... that was a victory
I hope one day they will all be exposed....
I have been the owner of a 1970 silver convertible, that I sold last year.
It sounds like you have quite a collection! It's great to see someone else remembers "The Magician". I remember watching the show as a kid and wishing they'd show more of the white '74 Vette.
Hi Olivier, Great show the "Magician". Do You have any pictures of the White 74 Corvette that Bill Bixby drove. I called, long time ago, trying to find the vin # of any of the White Corvettes Bill Bixby drove. Didn't find out a thing. Anybody with any information or pictures contact me at: gclaery@rochester.rr.com Thanks. Save the Wave.>George
Some websites indicate that he drove a white '73 coupe, others say a white '74 coupe. It's possible the show started with a '73, but all I remember is a white '74 coupe with the license plate "Spirit". I'm pretty sure it was factory stock. I haven't found any photos of it.
Hello Olivier. I responded to your PM and wanted to say hello publicly as well. Your collection sounds awesome. is there any way you can show us some pictures?
Hey how about a picture of your (now departed 1970) Corvette in Switzerland? Do you happen to have one? That would be neat to see!
Hello Olivier, and welcome. It sounds like you have an amazing collection. Photos are always good, if you have them. Are you planning on buying another Vette, since you sold the '70?
Hi guys,
Thanks for your nice comments.
I am trying to upgrade my membership, so I will be able to post some pictures.
It is nice to able to share your passion with others!
The purchase of a new Vette is not on the plans at the moment, but you never know....
I will be going to the Geneva Motor Show next week, and obviously will stay a long time at the Corvette display...
Take Care
Cheers,
Olivier
Hello Oliver, Thanks for the pictures of your collection. You have some really unique pieces. I see the red Ygo Fadini? Wow, that's impressive. I have only 1 Fadini Corvette.
Do you know how many Ygo Fadini Corvettes are out there? I paid nearly $500 for this one (maybe 7 years ago?). I think the prices have come down. But are they all that expensive, do you know? Do you have any other info on the Fadini's or the man himself?
Jetske,
Thanks for your reply.
It's a very interesting information, coz' I didn't realise it was a Ugo Fadini's car.... Now it makes it more valuable probably!
I don't know a lot about him; there is a website: www.ugofadini.com.
I think now he makes a lot of land speed record vehicles.
In december last year, a saw in a magazine a guy who was selling the 78 pace car ("one of the rarest Ugo Fadini's cars") for 550 euros...
Take Care
Cheers,
Olivier
My wife and I visited your beautiful city several years ago and we were very impressed. It is really one of the most scenic and beautiful places I've ever been. We took the train up from Geneva and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Nice to know that Vettes are so well represented by your fine collection.
