FM gold 69 427

Has anybody seen this thing.FM made 427 of them for a secondary market.It's a coupe done in gold with a black halo that wraps around the doors with a white out line and wire wheels.Can anybody tell me more about this?Is it worth getting and setting on it for resale?Thanks

It's based on the real 1:1's driven by the Apollo 12 crew. It's not a very flattering paint scheme for a Corvette, but I think it was done that way to loosely imitate a Saturn V rocket. Here's the story from Vette magazine...

Parts of the rocket were black, plus the black on the cars was also supposed to simulate "wings".

I have one in my collection. Only making 427 of them so you better act fast.

I think it's the history of this car that is the nice thing. It looks interesting on the shelf.

I don't collect FM, but a friend had one shipped to me so I could send it to him overseas. I'm a space history buff as well, so if I collected FM Vettes I'd probably get one. Limited production runs don't really mean much anymore, but I'm sure the crossover appeal between Corvettes and Apollo on this one will help keep it from nosediving in value like most FM's.
