Default WTB 1968 British Racing Green Roadster

Hey guys, Im still on the hunt for a 1968 British Racing Green roadster. Specifically looking for a 327/350 4spd car. Would prefer something recently restored or in very good condition. Im not worried about matching numbers or an investment quality car, but I am looking for a very nice driver. I would much prefer to buy from another forum member, but if you know of anyone selling one, or know of one for sale by a dealer, please let me know.

Email is the best way to contact me: GPaules03@gmail.com

Thanks very much

Here is a 1968 that may be of interest. I am not in anyway associated with this car.

Good luck,
George

Yeah, just sent you an email. Definitely call seller first and see about getting more pictures. No need to send another member on a car that you can eliminate through pics.

If you like what you see and hear start a need inspection thread in C3 general and someone will be happy to check it out for you.

Don't let the cat out of the bag on what the car is like either here. Keep it mum. It looks real good and the price is WOW!!!!!

When I first saw my car advertised I got on the phone IMMEDIATELY and talked to the seller. They take you more seriously rather than back and forth emails. And you develop a relationship and trust. I think this could be a winner.

Did a little research on the dealership themselves....less than stellar reviews from the few people who bothered to write on. 10 complaints through the BBB since opening. A lot of this may simply be people who didnt do their homework....or bought a 40 year old car thinking that it would run like a new Toyota. Anyway, I left a message on the shops voice mail and sent an email....we'll see what they come back with.

Yes, but you are buying the car, not the dealership.....

MANY folks buy sight unseen and do not check the cars out and when it is delivered they get angry on their purchase and take it out on the dealership. I am sure many of those folks didn't do their homework as you stated here.

If the car is inspected and checks out to your satisfaction there will be no issues and perhaps you can give them their very first postive review.

Oh....check out their facebook page. It looks more promising. They certainly have been in the business for some time. I think if you do your homework it will turn out just fine. Good luck.

Hi Greg,

Just found this on Hemmings. Not my car, and not associated with the seller at all, but it might suit your needs for a decent price.

Good luck,

Steve

Hahaha, its all good. Once of the guys from the midwest forum said this car has been for sale on the local craigslist for a while. And like you said, their facebook page does look more promising....we'll see what the owner comes back with as far as pics

Cool!!!!

I really like the car so far. But pictures can do wonders!

You are doing the right thing and this could very well be what you are looking for.

That car looks nice for a driver. It could be the lighting in the pictures, however the color looks off to me as far as true British Racing green. Better pictures would help.

The seller mentioned it is matching numbers. This means different things to different people but I would bet the color and interior don't match the cowl tag. This car has a Tobacco interior which was not offered with BRG. I would bet the car was originally black, white, or bronze. The color looks like a dark green metallic rather than true BRG. This doesn't mean the car isn't a good deal or a nice driver, but if you're looking for more I would keep looking. The wheels appear to be body color, the horn cap is from a C2, wrong valve covers etc.

Soooo.....I contacted the number listed on the craigslist add.....he claims to be the owner, and still in possession of the car, and American Muscle Car used his pictures without his consent....which I find shday. Ill probably just pass and keep looking.

Plus, as you posted, Im looking for a true British Racing Green car, and to my knowledge, there was only one BRG on Tobacco car, ordered as a COPO....it was for sale over a year ago

The car in Chicago was a bust, but I think I've found a much better car, from a much more reputable source. We're working out details and hopefully Ill be able to pick the car up as soon as I return from this deployment!
