I have never seen one. Perhaps this could be my first? Hopefully the OP comes back.

I hope so. To see a factory painted black C3 built between 1970 and 1976 pop up is a REAL rarity.

There is only one factory Black 72 it is a convertible, documented that was up for auction at Mecum about 3 years ago and bid to 70k and did not sell.Alot of the SPEC vettes were painted by dealers black or whatever color the owner wanted, usually they were black as it was not available from GM from 70-76.

Spec paint code cars were delivered to the dealer in primer from the factory. I bought a new corvette in 1974 & about the same time someone from Meadville had bought one with the spec paint code, it was delivered in primer, I believe it was painted by Bair's at that time but I don't remember the color.

Now listed on ebay.
I guess the seller chooses to ignore our desire for docs.

I wouldn't say ignored, but rather not returned to see any responses which is strange....

SPECIAL?

Maybe in 1972 it was written out. The ones I seen I thought were SPEC and were of earlier years.

Interesting nonetheless. Good luck with the sale.
