Formula One Abu Dhabi - TV Schedule
Formula One - Abu Dhabi Schedule on NBC Sports Network
=======================================
0. THERE IS NO 4:30 AM PRE-RACE SHOW BEFORE THE LIVE SHOWING OF THE RACE!!!!
1. THE TIMES FOR THIS RACE ARE DIFFERENT, SO PAY ATTENTION!
2. THERE ARE ONLY TWO SHOWINGS OF THE RACE ON SUNDAY ONLY!!!
3. THERE IS ONLY ONE SHOWING OF PRACTICE FOR THIS RACE!!
4. ALL OF THE BROADCASTS ARE ON NBC SPORTSNET
5. The PRE-RACE shows are scheduled separately this week!!!
xxxIf you want to see them you'll need to record them separately!!
The post-race show "F1 Extra" is shown immediately after the race
show whatever time that may be. the simplest way to make sure you
record it is to simply add enough extra time to the race broadcast recording to
get (a) any extra time that was needed to record the entire race
including any delays, and (b) "F1 Extra". My standard is to
add at least three hours (!) just to make sure I cover most eventualities.
I pull this info from from my Tivo's schedule. I have no guarantee that
it is correct but it usually is. I also double check it with the NBC Sports
NET schedule, too.

Yeah. My mistake (which I only realized when I turned to the TIVO to watch qualifying an hour ago. "S**T!", said I. ) My bad. They showed it on CNBC. Friggin' soccer.
They are reshowing qualifying at 10:30 this morning Pacific (about an hour from now) and that *is* on NBCSN.
ALWAYS double check me!! I make no promises.

Note that NBCSN has preempted the pre-race show for the LIVE showing of the race. They are showing some "Andretti & Vettel" thing in its place.
The TIVO schedule shows that they *are* showing the pre-race show prior to the 3:00 PM (Pacific) reshowing of the race. Be suspicious of that one, too.

And a "future reminder" for the next race (Austin)... As was mentioned in today's show, the Austin shows (practice, qualifying, race, pre-race, etc.) will be shown on THREE DIFFERENT NBC NETWORKS!!
The race itself will be shown on NBC. The other two will be NBCSN and CNBC (if I remember correctly.) Also, looking at NBCSN's online schedule suggests that practice and qualifying will be shown tape-delayed. To which I say, "Seriously??!!" The home of open-wheel racing my ***.
So put this info in the back of your brains somewhere for when the time comes... I'll detail this better as we get closer.

Next year will be interesting. On the one hand you have those saying that the rules shakeup can offer up a leveling of tech between the teams (at least for a while.) On the other hand is the position that the unknown offers the best time for the great and the experienced (Adrian Newey certainly ranks #1 in both categories) to do better than normal.
Here's hoping that things aren't just another decade of Vettel/Newey dominating things as it really is boring as hell no matter what the announcers say.

A followup to the Lotus saga:

So maybe Misters Grosjean and Hulkenberg will actually have something to work with the next couple of year! That would be nice.

We were pretty bored here, too.
re: Kimi (and Alonso for that matter)
If Ferrari doesn't give them both a car that can start at or near the front, I predict a really lousy 2014 season.
Montezemolo watching Kimi's first turn @ Abu Dhabi: "Seriously? How much for this guy?"
