These tires have built-in camber
While browsing ye 'ol YouTube, I came across these little slices of Heaven:

Website:
http://www.cambertire.com/indexretail.html
From what I've read, these tires essentially have a slightly shorter sidewall on the inside bead allowing more negative camber (available in 2, 3, or 4 degree options) for aggressive street use or autocross/street course duty.
Thoughts? Real world experience?
Cool concept, nonetheless!

Three words: Groove of Doom. I remember seeing some noise about those being tested at SCCA nationals (I think) a few years ago. Didn't hear much beyond that except that they use a sticky compound, roughly equivalent to a R888. My opinion is that the whole concept is silly. Why not just run zero camber?

If they worked they would be used by national lvl aoutxers, they are not. National lvl autoxers test tires to see which is best down to the last .001. In the vid they test them on an Evo, probably the least tire sensitive car made. Right now Hoosier owns the R-comp market and BFG is trying to break in. the BFG Revo is currently the best"Road" autox tire. Goodyear had a tire that was testing well , but they have fallen off the map. The Toyo's and Nittos are just not competitive, they are an good track day tire as they offer a longer life , but with less performance

Isn't that what the old BFG R1s had. As BFG said they were designed to be used on Camber Challenged cars. I used them exclusively on my 86 for 4 years. Then BFG got purchased by Michelin and their race tires disappeared. They were subject to the original Groove of Doom right down the center of the tire due to low inflation pressures but when inflated correctly there was no groove. They would run circles around the Hoosiers of the time.

The inventor is local to me and I have helped him at a local autocross. He has made a decent attempt at making this work, but the lap times aren't there compared to a good max performance summer tire with some neg camber.
We kept giving him the feedback that he should flip them and run them on camber challenged cars.

Agreed. That seems to make 10x more sense.

They were discontinued about 4-5 years ago, I used to run them and thought they were great, I didnt need crazy camber in my street/track car. I wish they still made them, but my car is dedicated now so I guess it doesnt matter anyway.
