Default Z06 Carbon Edition Mods

Steve brought his awesome Carbon Edition ZO6 back to MTI Racing for some new upgrades. You may remember this car from last year, when we designed and built a coilover system utilizing OEM magnetic ride shocks. This time, we went for more power and less rotating mass in the drivetrain.

We started off by installing a Pfadt Tri-Y header system with high flow cats and a x-pipe center section to seriously increase exhaust flow. We then installed a set of the MTI Racing "Hot Spark" Plug Wires to deal with the extra heat. We worked on the intake side of things next, putting in a FAST 102R intake manifold that MTI Machine port matched and installed a Nick Williams throttle body to ensure as much fuel and air is getting into the engine as possible.

To reduce rotating mass, we opted for the MTI Racing Torque Clamp clutch and Pfadt Carbon Fiber driveshaft. The Pfadt driveshaft only weighing 4.28lbs, but still manages up to 2300 ft-lb of torque. With the lightweight Torque Clamp Clutch and Pfadt driveshaft, Steve's Z06 accelerates faster out of turns on track days by putting more horsepower to the wheels.

Since Steve does track his car, we installed some Carbotech brake pads. These allow for shorter stopping distances and enables Steve's Z06 to carry more speed into turns. Reese *** did a MTI Racing full dyno tune to make sure that he gets the most from his mods.

List of Goodies
Pfadt Race Engineering Tri-Y Header System
MTI Racing Hot Spark Plug Wires
FAST 102R Intake Manifold with Billet Fuel Rails
Nick Williams 102mm Throttle Body
MTI Racing Torque Clamp Clutch
Pfadt Race Engineering Carbon Fiber driveshaft
Carbotech brake pads

515hp at the tires is close to 610 at the engine.

Impressive gains if that car does not have a cam in it! Also I'm sure it's just a mix up but that is not one of the 85 IO Carbon Edition made it's a Z06 w/ Z07. It has the wrong hood, the roof should be body color and the mirrors on the Carbon Editions are black not body color.
