Rob31,
I put a Ultrashield aluminum seat in my 85 track car. I used the Hardbar mounts. Good height adjustment with these mounts. Not to difficult to do, it just takes some time to get it place where you want the seat to be, at least with the aluminum seat because it is not pre-drilled with mounting holes.

I have a Kirkey economy seat here .
Considered using a sliding bracket .
I do have a four point roll bar in the car also
I have to put it so far forward ,its a pain to get in to .

I have a set of Corbeau Forza's in my '87. They are the "standard width" seat and I didn't have to remove the parking brake although the fit at that point is very snug. Corbeau makes a "Wide" version and that seat may not fit on the driver's side. The Forza is an entry level seat. Note that this seat only has bottom mounting points and no side mount capability.
I would look at the Corbeau A4 seat as it has close to the same dimensions and is a side mount seat. With this seat, you should be able to use the HardBar seat mounts but there is no forward/backward adjustment with this system.
I made my own seat frames as the Forza seat has a nearly 90 degree seatback angle so getting the seat back at a comfortable angle took some work to do. I also bought a set of their sliding brackets so I could adjust the seats forward and backwards.
The seat should fit as low as possible so that you can wear a helmet and keep the coupe targa top in place. The Forza seat has a removable seat bottom that can be taken out for events and that will lower you into the seat at least another 2 inches. Both the Forza and A4 have slots for a sub belt and the lap and shoulder harnesses.

Sparco "EVO" made my own mount brackets, it is mounted right on the floor. I am 6' tall and any higher my head would hit the roof. EVO 2 will NOT FIT ! A friend of mine tried after I had suggested to him I would stick with the EVO because there is no room for a wider seat. He took it back and mounted an EVO. Just another story for you. Hope it helps.

I have to run a race seat because I have a 4pt . bar welded in .
Picked up the Forza . My Kirkey is a good fit ,just hard to get into ,squeezing between the A pillar , and the steering wheel is a big pain .
