Default Lowering bolts

I just ordered the Johnny O'Connell stage one shocks/sways/end links from CCA. I am currently lowered all the way on aftermarket WCC bolts. I do HPDE about once a month or so, I don't daily drive the car so I'm not worried about the harsh ride. My question is do I need to raise the car a little in order to maximize the potential of the shocks and sways? If so how much?

Oh and also, when I lowered the Z51 suspension all the way initially I damaged one of the shocks. Maybe this was because I slammed it all the way. At the time I was going for the look, now I'm looking for function. This makes me hesitant to keep it this low on the JOC shocks.

Thanks for the help

My Z51 came from the factory with the front bolts 4 turns up from bottomed out and the rears 1 1/4 turns up. (I think that's about where the Z06 comes from the factory as well.) So there's only 1 1/4 turns down while maintaining factory rake.

I'd set yours to that and measure from the a-arm to the top of the spring as precisely as you can and record those measurements.

Start from there and tweak per upcoming advice.

It's hard to say, but I'd raise it back up a bit. I generally like to stay close to OEM minimum ride height, and not below. That varies from car to car of course, but you are likely 3/4" or so below that. The suspension angles just don't work as well.
