Default Mobile Radio vs Handheld - how much difference?

I'm interested to hear if anyone has gone from one to the other - how much of an improvement is there from the 35 extra watts from a mobile radio?

Thanks.

It is significant but the only time you will really notice it is at the big tracks or tracks with a bunch of terrain. Also if there are others around that are on channels close to the one you are using. Power is king.

It's almost required at The Glen unless you have a tall mast on your base radio.
