Default size questions

Hey all, looking to get new tires for hot days in TX. I have a 2010 C6 245/40/18 fronts and 285/35/19 in back. My questions is if or can I go up to 245/45/18 and 285/40/19 and not have any fitment issues and does this give me more rubber by doing this? And can I go higher on the first number to and if so what advantages if any are there? Thanks.

So with a 2010 base C6 that has 245/40/R18s front and 285/35/R19s rear, would this combo be good and safe? Car is not lowered and has about 430-440 RWHP.

front: 265/40/R18
rear: 305/30/R19

Going with the Pilot SS. Didn't see a 305/35/19 for this brand.

No sir. You need to stay within 3% of the overall diameter of your OEM tires from front to back. You are going up about 5/8" in front, and down about 5/8" in the rear...

I would recommend staying stock, and trying the Toyo Proxes 1

A quick question, so it seems the middle number is a main factor in selecting tires safely. Why does the front have a greater % of tire width than the rear?
