There have been some huge threads on that in the C4 section. You are speaking of the camber brace correct? I have thought of those as extra weight but some people like them. Mostly street drivers that say it reduces cowl shake. I have no idea what cowl shake is, the cars I have had don't do that as far as I can tell. I have never seen back to back lap time improvement tests with the product.

Yes camber brace.. Cowl shake ,that's a new on me. Me eather on the times with or without a brace.I am starting to get a little roll over in the front I wasen't getting before I may be driveing faster.. I am looking for in- put .If they work good if not don't need one ..Just trying to tie to two sides together may go with an X-brace.It's a week- end racer Auto cross thing.....Thanks

The camber brace does not do enough to justify the extra weight. Will it stiffen the front? Probably a little bit. Will you notice? No. Don't waste your money.

What do you mean by roll over? The sidewalls of the tires are rolling under or you are getting more body roll? Both could be contributed to you driving faster sure.

A little more body roll. I did put some poly in the rear trailing arms, after that the front was not level as before in the same place on the track ... I still drives great a speed, but something changed to get the body roll .I may just start at the front and work my way to the back checking it out?? If you drive the same over and over you can tell something changed .Let's throw parts at it..O-No $$$... No Chamber Brace.. Cool THANKS...

Poly in the rear will stiffen the suspension a little and help produce more lateral force. This extra force will make the body roll more. If you are looking for less roll start with anti-roll bars.

The upper front suspension mounting points for the C4 are notoriously flexible.

Larry put one on our C4 BSP car and he said he could feel the difference. I didn't notice it one way or the other, but he drove it on the same course, back to back when he put it on and said it helped. He was pretty aggressive in getting the weight out if the car and if it wasn't worth it he wouldn't have kept it on.

That said, the car in question was an 84 chassis and it didn't have the bolt in chassis elements that were added to the later cars, that added weight, but also stiffened the frame a lot. Your 96 has those pieces so I'm not sure if the strut bar would help a later car as much.

There was a RD camber brace in the C4 Parts section last week but it is already sold.
You could post in that forum a WTB thread. Somebody probably has one sitting around you could buy for half the price Van Steel sells the new ones for. New ones are $219 plus shipping.

The original camber brace is like 11lbs IIRC. Very thick bar of steel. It could certainly be much thinner and lighter, and made out of aluminum.

It's 11 lbs where you don't want it. But it got very popular around here.

If I had a machine shop business, I would redesign it.

I thought I read somewhere that the 90-newer cars have stronger strut towers/front craddle from the factory. This may not be needed on the newer cars.
