Default Need help! Tech inspection.

I'm trying to get a tech inspection in the Bryan/College Station area, for The Drivers Edge event at Texas World Speedway (TWS) in March. The only shop that was on the recommended list (in my area) that they sent out, is no longer in business. I talked to another shop and they have never done it before and want $96.

Surely there's someone that knows of a good place to go, that can get it done for less than that. Any ideas?

Thanks

There will be a CVAR event at TWS Friday, Feb. 22, Saturday, Feb 23rd and Sunday Feb 24th. There will be Tech Inspection for that event which (I feel) will be recognized by any national sanctioning body. Corinthian Vintage Automobile Racing (CVAR) is a nationally recognized club and a member of the Vintage Motorsports Council. If you have a log book (and any safety gear), take it with you for Tech to sign.

you can always call the club back and ask them for other recommendations. Past that, if you have a local guy you go to, just take it to him. I know I used to pay $40 for mine, which was nothing, just to pay for the 30min my guy "worked" on it (eg on and off the lift). After sending a few more people their way it was free, and eventually I got to the point I'd fill out a tech form at the events and sign it in front of them (I had a race car at the time, so no one cared).

So back on topic, if there are any other performance shops in the area I'd say you should try them as well. good luck!
