Seat
What kind of seat do you recommend for a driver with a 40" waist in a C6?
Fixed back, I assume. I am afraid of getting a seat then finding out I am to fat to fit in it...
Thanks

I don't know for sure but I think the Sparco EVO II plus is about as wide as you can go:

I use a Sparco Evo 2 and it fits fine and I have a 40" waist. But I would never buy a seat that I didn't sit in first and make sure that it is a good fit for you!!!! It is very important that you are completely comfortable in the seat. Go to a local race equipment store or at your next track event, ask around if guys will let you try there seats to see how they fit you. Most guys will be happy to let you try there race seats to see how you fit. JD

I'm bigger than that and I get into a Sparco Evo 2 as well. But it depends on your shape - I'm all beer gut so the hip width doesn't bug me. The alternative for non-FIA seats are Kirkey aluminum road racing seats, those go up to 18" hip width. One of those combined with the back support tied off to your roll cage/harness bar will get you through tech at most HPDE's. However if you're racing I'd check the requirements of the series.
I bookmarked this thread about Kirkey's a while back, but I've been OK in our Sparco L's and Evo II.

I've got an 18" Kirkey Intermediate Road Race in my 2006 C6. It is actually a little big -- maybe a 17.5" would have been better. It is a tight fit in the car and the shoulder wings press on the door cards. My waist is 38-40"

Check the Sparco website, they give all of the spec for each seat. But try to make sure it will fit you and your car?? These seats do not mount up to the stock seat brackets. Also keep in mind that the air bags do not work once you install a race seat. The Evo 2 will fit in a C6-Z06 with Pfadt or Arizen sliding brackets and side mounts. JD

Make sure you research exactly what it is you are looking at from Sparco. In their infinite wisdom, the seat names have all changed.
EDIT: I screwed up the seat conversion originally... For anybody who doesn't know, the "current" Sparco Evo 2 is now extra wide and the same as the older Evo 2 Plus. The Evo 2 US is now the middle size. Nope... not confusing at all. Brilliant marketing from Sparco.
I think that's right.
