--LG Motorsports built C5R 'Box' Car #14 HPDE Corvette---
Hey guys,
Little bit of history on this one, in 1999-2000 Chevy built 20 'box' car Corvettes for SCCA racers. These cars were all rolling chassis cars that you put together as a kit, only a number was assigned to them, no VIN so they could never be street driven. Over the years we have had the pleasure of working on or finishing 3 of these cars. This one you might have actually seen in the Corvette Museum a few years ago.
This is the story of car #14.
The cage, interior, and body work were finished out by another shop prior to the current owner around 2001 and was built as a HPDE/T1 racer with a completely stock drivetrain. We started with the current owner around 2007 on bringing the car up to current standards.
Over the years the current customer has worked with us on a number of changes to the car including a LS2 based 402 crate engine using our ported LS3 heads and G5X3 camshaft. Adding headers, coolers, and suspension upgrades have all been about making the car more fun to drive and more reliable over the years.
Modifications:
Winter projects include upgrading to the current LG GT2 wing, and one of our floor mounted race pedal assemblies from our World Challenge cars.
Awesome car Dewayne and we always love seeing it and working on it!

This is a very very early car and they were running fuel cells in the trunk area of the car like the NASCAR's do. That being said the exhaust runs just like stock through the middle of the car and then makes a turn to exit through the body in front of the rear tires.
Our ALMS car and GrandAm Corvette's actually have headers going over the frame and have pipes mounted to the outside of the frame.
