For Sale C5 Z06 SCCA T1 Race car
After 8 great years I have decided to sell #97
The car was raced for 2 years in SCCA T1 Northeast. It was idle for a year until I bought the car 3/2004 with brand new crate motor just installed. Gary Hoffman of Hardbar maintained the car in Northeast and I have had help from John Schertzer here in socal who helps maintain the socal T1 group. I usually race 4-5 weekends a year in SoCal SCCA T1 and there is only 9600 miles on the car and 6000 miles on the engine. Car has been very competitive and is mechanically sound and ready to go. The car has numerous regional/national race wins and track records. I know all these cars are theoretically race ready, but this car is. I was planning to race 2 more weekends this year but just got too busy. Engine oil and differential fluid just changed. Last race was 6/2012 at Calif speedway.
Car highlights:
2001 C5 Z06
Full Cage, window net, right side net, quick release momo steering wheel
2002 LS6 (tuned with headers on 91 octane fuel). Rev limiter not elevated . 6000 racing miles on engine. 3 weekends on new valve springs.
Transmission with 3 weekends on rebuild (with new clutch and slave, steel forks). Torque tube serviced same time
External bleeder for clutch
Transmission cooler GM T1
DRM engine oil cooler
Ron Davis radiator
T1 suspension
Penske shocks custom built single compression adjustable (dyno'd and built by Leading Edge Motorsports)
New rebuilt ABS module and steering rack
3 sets CCW classic 17 inch wheels. One set with brand new centers.
4 sets of Hoosier 315/17 A6 tires. 3 sets mounted. 1 set with only 1 heat cycle
Many spares including rotors, axle, etc as well as maintenance parts (too much to list)
Car $26,000
Car with 24 foot Pace American Shadow enclosed trailer $29,000.

Jerry Brown, Obama, Obamacare and an 18 year old aspiring engineer going to college eat into the "fun money" . I plan on being at the races helping the vette group with the cars.

If you are not racing I get 1st dibs on Ethan's services. My 18 y/o is at UCI engineering. Maybe we should put them in our cars we can sit back and tell them lies about how it used to be in our days...

Too bad, I enjoyed racing with you and hanging out. Hopefully I'll see you at the track. I still have 2 more years to get as much racing in as possible, then I'll probably be in the same boat for the following 7 years trying to pay for 3 kids in college.

The sale of the car is in process.
I hope to be at the majority of the races this year helping in the pits/paddock wherever the former Calclub T1 and new ST2 vette group is racing
