Default C5Z06 - Front wheels on rear of car - Will it fit?

Just wondering if the front 17" wheels will fit on the rear of a C5Z?

Crazy I know, but we have 2 autox events left and my rear RS3's are done! RS3's stay sticky to the wear bars, but after that the magic rubber is gone.

I have a set of 295/35/17 Kumho XS mounted that I use as fronts on the street and are pretty much new. Thinking of using these on the back of the car for the last two autox events of the season as I am still in the trophy hunt. However, with the RS3's on the rear that hunt will end so I am looking for an alternative. The OD is within my +/- 5% rule, but not sure if the offset and backspacing of the wheels will lead to rubbing.

With the RS3's out for RTR next year, and not sure if Dunlop will have Vette sizes I don't want to buy more RS3's right now which is why I am thinking this plan (Dunlop > Kumho XS IMHO - for next year). Obviously I will also need the ok locally to violate the stock wheel rules, but that shouldn't be a problem (one of the guys I am in a battle with wants to codrive the last event )

I run all 17s on the street and in the rain and it works fine, but I've only done it with 265 and 275 rear section tires. I don't see why wider would rub since we use up to 315 section rear tires...

I see no reason they won't fit. The guy who runs against me in SSP runs 18's in front and 17's in back.

I do not understand the logic here. What benefit would this have?

Yes, I run 275 R6s on four 17" fronts for practice tires and my HWETs are on a set of 17" fronts as well. I swap over to A6s on 18s for racing.

However, I prefer the 275s on the 17" wheel when racing at Charlotte. The transition from the infield onto the banking in T1 is very abrupt and the extra sidewall height helps soften it a bit. I have set several lap records on that combination at that track.
