My brother and I had a great time yesterday. We were in the area between turn 5 and the bridge. We got there at 8:40 and the best spots had already started to fill up. My favorite viewing area is the hill overlooking 3-4-5, but they set up all the marque hospitality tents there and weren't allowing pop-ups, just chairs.
It was the biggest crowd I can remember at VIR, even bigger than the Grand Am of a few years ago. I hope VIR made a suitable impression on the powers-that-be in whatever organization supercedes GA/AMLS and VIR can be on the permanent schedule.

ALMS and VIR put on a very high quality show yesterday. Seven jumbotrons to keep everyone in touch with what is going on around the track.
Very happy to see the large crowd they drew -- parking past the bridge was full and they were parking cars before the bridge. South Paddock is still the best kept secret. We grabbed a picnic table right at the rail at pit-in less than an hour prior to the start of the race. Great views of T9, South Bend, Oak Tree and the back stretch.
Love the sound of the GT Corvettes as well as the Prototype Challenge cars with the 6.2L LS3 spec engines.

I just finished watching the race on ESPN2. It filled in a lot of what we couldn't see from turn 5 and on the Jumbotron. Too bad they compressed a four-hour race into two hours of coverage.

Good pics everyone, I really enjoyed watching the VIR race. I wonder how much they were charging for the villas? I got one during the corvette museum for event 125$ -complete downstairs with patio, first one in the second building.

Not bad for their first shot at it, but there were a couple of things that could have been better. We met the marketing director and owner and provided some feedback.
All-in-all it was an awesome event! It's always cool when a Vette wins!
