Zanardi is nothing short of amazing. I sooooo hope they (Zanardi & Ganassi) decide to do the Indy500 thing. That would just be excellent.

I always enjoyed watching Alex race in CART, and can remember just how astonished I was when he made that pass in the corkscrew.

And I remember how he introduced victory donuts to us. Common, even boring, now, back then it was an exuberance and sheer happiness like that of a child getting his favorite toy for Christmas.

And then Sept '01 came along. 9/11, then his crash, just one complete horrifying month. I was amazed he lived then, even more so when we learned the details of his injuries. His survival is something I consider a true miracle from God (excellent crash crew with superb doctors in the trucks, accident happened where those excellent crews got there in the minimum amount of time, etc.), and then again there's Alex.

Walking way before the docs thought he could, racing in DTS, now the paralympics, maybe Indy (how cool would that be?), a truly amazing person.

And I'm whining because I have to be away from home until mid-November for work.

I'm such a wuss.

Thanks for sharing, and have a good one,
Mike
