Default Congrats to "GAS": 2012 NASA STR2 National Champ (in my old Z06)!!!!!!!!!

Well, Geff Sawtelle (aka "GAS" on the forum) who is the proud new owner of my old 2002 Z06 clearly has the car working great! He made a some great passes, then held out (really, ran away) and won the 2012 NASA National Championship in STR2.

http://speedcasttv.com/#/races/291 (skip to about minute 205 for the beginning of the race)

I'm proud of Geff and the car, I just wish it could have been me. I never had the time (or money) to campaign the car properly, hence I sold it. It still tugs at the heart strings to see my girl living life she always should have with another man.

Man, to think of all the things I've been through with that car over the 5.5+ years I owned it. From just a hopped up street car to a true track beast, then Geff put in the last big of development and had the time to sort it all out and go win big.

Wow, I didn't know that was your car! Did you keep your engine? What engine was he running? It's kind of like my car's brother with the same cage/fab builder.

Hey TJ!! Life is GREAT! Thanks for working out a deal with me on your car. It is a BEAST and you had all the right parts assembled. I had a pretty good lead with about 7 or 8 minutes to go and then did a tank slapper in the carousel which brought me to a dead stop. That allowed the 2nd place car to close up on my tail and we had a pretty good battle for a couple laps until he went off in the carousel. She also came home with the TTS National Championship with a 1:30.07, and a 2nd in an ST2 rain race that had serious butt pucker factor for this guy, having totaled out a car one year ago in the rain at Mid "O". Yep....Life is GREAT!

You normally drive great but this was the best I've ever seen you drive Man this **** isn't as easy as it used to be. Tell me more about this TTS Championship. I really missed being out there having fun with you guys, hopefully I'll be playing next year, in my car.

Congrats, well deserved for sure.

Turns out the Honda flunked the dyno test after the last session.

I don't know the details but I thought it was illegal to adjust power at anytime during the competition. How do you get dynoed and pass a couple hours before and then fail.

Wonder how close it was

I kept my engine, Geff will have to give you details on what's in it now.

Great work Geff, great great work! I couldn't be happier with who my "baby" went to and what y'all have done with her since.

And thanks to everybody else for the kind words.

Similar deal to me I believe and I also believe it was brought to the surface, until Tuesday or wednesday after the race.. If you have it, check out the letters section in GRM. They are looking for feedback about this post race practice of NASA's....
