Default ok fellas...im at wits end..

So a while back i hit a few bumps and the right back tire would come up and hit the inner wheel well. Enough to leave tire groove burn marks in the well. Figured the shocks were dated, so i put on LG G2 coilovers at 700# in the back. Hit a bump last week and today and the same thing happened. I cant believe these stiff coils would allow that. Its only on the right side to. Just had a full alignment done today. A 300$ one....and it happen again. The right tire is wearing faster than the left as well, not sure if its related. Is there a bushing or something that could be shot that would allow this? Wtf is going on?!

What car are we talking here? Plus, are the wheels and tires stock, car lowered anything like that other than the new coil overs.

The inner wheel well will find its way into the trash can soon. You may need a bump stop, depending on your setup and ride height.

what are the alignment specs? Does the rear end wander too? Or just front end darty-ness?

A big enough tire will rub, unless you space it out or chg rim offset. Could the liner be loose? The rear sub frame offset? Car been hit hard?

How is the tire wearing?

Are you saying that your hitting the top of the fender line, or the side of the fender liner? I hit both. So I cut the side part out. For the top, I let the tire wear what was needed.

Hitting the top of the fender liner is how low your car is in the rear or how soft your spring(s) are or the liner itself is mounted low. Take some measurements with loaded suspension.

Shock bumpers on both sides?

Have you checked to make sure nothing is broken on the right side? A decade ago there were some weld failures on the C5 rear UCA mounts. Not sure how what kind of symptoms you would get but it is worth it to check the brackets. Here is a picture I copied from an old post 11 years ago.

You might want to check the alignment as it might have changed since it was pulled off the rack. Most alignment guys don't check to see if things are broken or damaged and just adjust to hit the numbers and once they are in the green say they are done. If the right rear tire is wearing more an alignment change would cause that.

Update: I did a search and found a number of threads that referenced the weld issue in the 2002 time period but they reference threads from spring of 2001 which I can't find with search.
