It does. And has twin 40mm restrictor plates.

They got a waiver on displacement. The car will be heavy and restricted.

Yep, this is likely a big disadvantage for them - having to use the big (heavy) motor and restrict the hell out of it. That car would be much faster with a smaller lighter less restricted motor. This is why the Vettes will kill it.

Shorter races, tighter tracks, yes. The restrictor plates will cause them to shift at about 4000 rpm. The engine will mave massive torque, and will be amazingly durable in the endurance races with that 4000 rpm 'redline'.

The motor is aluminum, and not too heavy.

Even if they restrict, it will still produce tons of torque. They will just build the motor around the restictor, just like they did with the 7.0L. If I remember the GT1 7.0 had crazy torque numbers vs. horsepower due to the restrictors. Also, the article makes a good point, with lower revs and high restriction, the motors should be VERY reliable compared to a strung out 5.5L. The motor will be all aluminum, it won't be overly heavy. I think the street viper is right around the weight of a ZR1.

The C6r produces 470hp @ 4,800 rpm, so it is not exactly 'strung-out' either. Both are setup for torque.
