Default Problems with replacing stock seat with race seat?

When I replace the stock seat in my 99 FRC with a Sparco race seat will there be any codes or other problems with just unplugging the old seat?

Yes.

J/K, but yes, you will throw codes if you don't re-attach the seat control unit that is mounted under your stock seat. I'm assuming you have a power driver's seat? you'll have four codes permanently then, even with the control module re-attached. without the control module you'll lose your memory functions (mirror, telescopic wheel settings).

I ziptied my controller to my new race seat, took care of the memory control.

Mine does not have the memory option. Yes power driver seat. Will the codes affect how the car runs? I don't want it to do some thing like go into limp home mode.

Swapping the seat will not cause your car to run differently. You'll be fine.

Your steering wheel will not telescope if you have one.

pfadt caravaggio and a few others (I think phoenix, lg, and dsv may also) make plug in harnesses to fix issues with the steering wheel and airbag lights. Usually this is something thats not sold on the website but rather something you need to call in for.

He's asking about a C5. I have no issues, lights, or codes when I remove my stock seat (with memory) and put in my track seat.

I didn't have an issue with my 97 without memory or my 03 with memory.

It won't work but with some creative wiring you can still have it work.
Easist thing is to just set it where you want it before you pull the plug.
