Default Another AMERICAN driver coming to F1...

Indiana native Conor Daly has signed with Force India to do testing...

On the heels of a superb opening round GP3 win in Barcelona this past weekend.

Along with California native Alexander Rossi, it looks entirely possible there could be TWO American drivers on the F1 grid for 2013.

That would be awesome. It's about time.

He just barely got started in the F1 world when he suffered from ulcerative colitis (sp?) and lost virtually a full year. He got back in the seat but by that time the F1 world was moving on.

So where does he go? IRL (at the time)? He had a shot at NASCAR via his Red Bull connections, and took advantage of that. Diss oval track racing all you want, it was the best venue he had at the time.

Have a good one,
Mike

I realize he was making lemonade from lemons...it just seems like a long fall from F1 to NASCAR, but as a professional racer you do what you can to feed your family.

I always thought that Red Bull pushed him out too early. Their cars were not exactly competitive when Scott was driving them, and he had some good performances from the car. But, the Toro Rosso team is a warmup for the Red Bull team and they already had their eyes on Sebastian.

F1 is cut throat...you really only have a VERY short window to make a great impression or you find the next one in line sitting in YOUR seat.

pretty sure one of the seasons S. Speed was in F1 he had more passes than any other driver. 99% sure I am accurate on that stat
