Default May 12, 13 Tracks Unlimited at AMP is a go!

Double checked today, and the Tracks Unlimited event at the new AMP track is a go for May 12, 13. I asked how registration was going, and they said they were coming in briskly. I also asked how many vettes compared to porsche and bmw, and they indicated porsche by far had the most registrations. Come on guys, we gotta have more that just a handful of c4's, c5's and c6's there. This is the first event anyone will have on this track. I don't know about you, but I would like to say I was the first on a new track. Only one group will ever get to say that. Jerry

I hope it actually goes as planned this time. Wish I could make it too.

Plan to go there Thur. to drive on the track and go through their lapping program with their resident instructor. Recently got certified with NASA as an instructor. Guess it will feel like being a novice again, on a track no one has driven! Jerry

Were they finally able to get the final layer paved??

I went on a tour there back in June 2010, damn near rolled my truck driving through the dirt on the way to back, actually put it on its side, a dirt berm saved my ***, and the 5 people in with me :-)

I will be there too. Haven't been up there since Oct when I stacked tires.
Wondering where everyone will set up?

I was told they are done completely with the track. They are laying sod, and paving paddock this week. Jerry

Default vette corral

Maybe we can all figure out how to paddock close to have all the vettes together. Jerry

If anyone wants to get a little help that weekend learning the track let me know. I'm at AMP Friday-Sunday every weekend. Just ask for Kevin.

Kevin my star pupil from Barber a few years ago
Like you needed instruction
I'm probably comming out real early Friday if the car is done, later if I'm dragging the heavy, slow Camaro.

I'm guessing that AMP does not, in this case, stand for Arizona Motorsports Park?

Atlanta Motorsports Park, but should be Dawsonville Motorsports Park. I guess Road Braselton sounds pretty bad too. It looks awesome no matter what they call it.

I got an email from Tracks Unlimited and they should be sending out the "Here is when registration opens on Friday" email Monday or Tuesday.

It is definitely a go. The track is not going to have a food vend, so the tu guys are trying to set up a caterer that will sell food at the track for us. Jerry
