Default Schwanke built LS1 long block (706 heads) $800

Schwanke built LS1 long block (706 truck heads)...... minus cam.
has GM crank and rods with Mahle forged pistons
706 truck heads made for almost 11 to 1 compression with excellent torque
pulled so hard between 3000-6500 it was unnecessary to rev past 6500, and didn't like it anyway.
was very reliable and won many races and set a daytona track record

nothing fancy, but ran extremely strong making over 480 HP with nearly that much torque utilizing a 580 lift cam

I think a good buy for the home engine builder.

This motor in our Howe/Bemco chassis stock car ran 1:30 at Road Atlanta, 2:16.xxx at Sebring and 1:57 at Daytona

This motor was not hurt, but was replaced with a new, more powerful Schwanke LS6.

$ 750

Moroso ASA dry sump pan and Razor single stage scavenge pump for 450 bucks more
