Default Sway Bar Questions: Solid or Hollow?

I thought I would post in the Roadrace/Autocross section to get some good answers from the experts.

I own a stock C5 Z06. Are the OEM swaybars on my car solid or hollow?

If solid, how much weight per bar (front and rear) do you think I would save by going with a hollow bar?

Besides weight, any advantages by going with solid vs. hollow?

Thanks in advance for your replies and input!!!

My notes show the front bar as 30.0 mm diameter with a wall thickness of 4.5 mm and the rear bar as 23.6 mm diameter with a 3.5 mm wall thickness.

Long & more accurate way of saying, yep, they are already hollow.

Thanks! Who makes the OEM bars for the Vettes? I know Addco does a lot of OEM stuff.

Can anyone provide the exact specifications for the following sway bars?

C6 Z51: I assume it is hollow, overall diameter? wall thickness?

C6 Z06: I assume it is hollow, overall diameter? wall thickness?

Would either front and rear bars be a decent upgrade to the stock OEM bars on my C5 Z06?

Lets take construction methods and materials out of the equation. Check out our sway bar comparison chart for a visual representation of the stiffness of all of our bar options vs. the factory bars.

One thing you'll notice is that our bars tend to be a little more front biased than the factory parts. We do this to bring the overall balance of the car a little closer to neutral, as well as promote confidence at turn in. Overall no matter which OEM bar package you started out with, the car will be easier to drive with a set of Pfadt bars on the car.
