Default True 18-inch road racing tires? (non-DOT)?

I've run road courses on stock tires, A6's, and R6's. I'm wondering if anyone is running on a true non-DOT tire? Differences? Availability?

Cool. Do they grip better than an A6 or R6? Heat up faster or slower? Overheat faster or slower? Last longer or less?

Anyone that actually uses them and can give their experiences?

i have used Good Year G19s scrubs. Mounted and unmounted, never used on track. So new tires.

Used two different rubber compound. R370 & R550

Grip was Great. far better then A6s.
the R550s lasted two weekends. ~ 10 heat cycles then corded

the R370s lasted ONE DAY then they were corded

The one thing I can say is that they need a lot of heat to work and it takes several laps for that to happen. I ran some used pirelli grand am slicks and nearly wiped out coming out of the hot pits. It was like driving on ice. Once they heated up the grip was excellent. Better than R6, but I have not used A6 so I can't compare.
If you are using real slicks for time trial or time attack it is pretty much mandatory to use tire warmers and don't take them off until the very last minute. Otherwise those using something like A6 will rip off the fast laps early on and you will be left behind. By the time the tires are good there will be no room on the track to do a fast lap. Just traffic. Learned it the hard way.

From my experience I found they grip better, heat up slower, don't overheat as fast and do not last as long.

Two laps for warm up. The harder you drive them initially the quicker they warm up obviously. You need to have your car control game on from the moment you leave the paddock.

We would mow through one tire per day. Typically the left front. That was 8 sessions and sometimes more when I would be giving rides. We ran a square setup and rotated tires every single session. Our car was AWD and weighed 4300 lbs and made about 475 AWHP. For us the grip level of the tires and their cost effectiveness compared to anything else was hard to pass up even at 1 tire per day.
