Default Delrin or spherical bushings for T1 bars?

I'd like some for my T1 bars. Who makes them?

Prefer delrin or equally tough material without going metal.

You could talk to Aaron about his pillow blocks and then make your own delrin inserts. Maybe the HR ones will fit a T1 bar.
I don't recall the diameters.

What's the diameter of a T1 bar?

Front = 38.4mm
Rear = 27.5mm

This from a sway bar comparison.

I would do actual measurements to confirm before I bought some or had them made.

Of course there's the shape of the outside of the bushing also, a modified D shape.

I figure there are a lot of these GM bars out there. Someone must have made some upgrade bushings

The Pfadt pillow blocks for the HR front bar should work perfect.
I have a LR rear bar and it is 26.2mm so you could just drill out the bushing 1mm no problem.
But I would check to see the size of the rear HR bar first.

I don't think you're going to have any luck getting the pillow block inner sleeves on to the T1 bars...the tubing needs to be straight

The aluminum mount should fit no problem. The "bearing" will be a different story. I would just cut it in one spot which will let it spread enough to make the bends or just put it on where it belongs. Then when you slide it into the mount it won't go anywhere.

If that is the case then I'm done. In my opinion poly has NO business in a race/track car.

Delrin or bearings. I think poly is bad enough in a race car to be dangerous. It is the wrong material for the application.

Just my two cents

idea ive been throwing around:

make a copy of the rubber bushings out of delrin. cut in half so you can get them on the bars, drill holes in each of the halves for bolts to run through (obviously you want a larger bore at the top so the head will fit inside the bushing - i suggest cap screws since they have a round top and can easily use an allen/hex socket), then install the delrin bushing assembly the same way as with the regular bushings. The neat part is that it will look stock if you use black delrin and the original mounting tabs.

this design will also work with aluminum. you can then just buy plastic inserts like the pfadt kit has (except theyed need a cut to allow installation on the factory bars), or set the bore up to hold a 2 piece metal bearing...

if youre into cheating (or just want the stock look with the benefits of all metal) you could do it in delrin, and then bore it out for the metal bearing...
a rubberized coating on the sides of the bushing will make it even more believable

if a company wants to use this idea, by all means go ahead, but I want a set!

hope this helps!

Who make the highest durometer poly, or are they all the same durometer?

I assumed the T1 came with poly bushings, but from the looks of mine (wear) it's not poly or I just am drivin it hard.

Should good poly show wear?

I have seen some of that red poly stuff (I forget the name) that gets really trashed on some cars. It's like a tuner car poly kit.

poly comes in different durometers. if you want to make your own, you can go to mcmaster carr's website. they have many different types.

you may also want to try calling pfadt or phoenix performance
im sure either one can make the bushings for whatever size bars youre running

zip corvette also sells poly bushing for the T1 bars...
