Hard to sell sponsorship when you're not on TV.

I was upset to hear Melo was out. His battles against the corvette team were great

are they sticking to Grand Am, or nothing at all? GM is getting closer to having GT2 all to themselves just like they did in GTS/GT1!

Ferarri was the main competitor for Corvette, with them out, they should definately see some more podiums this year

They still have FLM to race with, fully backed by Porsche they'll be strong again this year...they always are. I hope we see a Risi car in Grand-Am or something, real shame they pulled out.

sorry Oliver!!!
kinda sad to hear about this, if it's true,...saw the ferrari's racing against the porsches, vettes, beemer m3's,..jags, and astons at the balt. grand prix last year,...and while not a big fan of ferrari's [esp. now that they don't even make a manual anymore!],..they sounded awesome, and were always very competitve against their arch rivals,..those 911 gt3rsr's!,...money is tight, and manufacturers are starting to find it difficult to splurge on these kinds of things,...a great loss to the amer. lemans series,..which i follow fairly closely,..sad, in my opinion...

on a side note,..was watching some race recently,..[my geezer afflicted brain can't remember which one!],..and some female sporting journo was getting set to interview the owner of the risi team,...and she more than insinuated that the guy was a total d-bag,...she said he's basically a real *****,..and very hard and unfriendly to get any info out of,..so when she did get a, like 2 minute interview with him,..he was, yes,..basically very rude and more than a total tool,..too bad,...just seemed loke a real a-hole,...when they interviewed the vette teams, and the beemer teams, porsche etc., those guys were MUCH more out-going and sunny in their disposition,..so, i'm a big believer in karma,..being the old hippy i am,...so,..what goes around,..comes around?...

The Patron Ferrari's are still racing in ALMS this year. Not to mention Aston is supposed to be back.

This is bad for ALMS GT. However with the GT field so deep now they can afford to lose one top team.

Are they definitely out for the whole season? All I have been able to find is that they won't be at the 12hr.

They sure did last year and it was frustrating to watch. I understand (although it's hard to get good info) that BMW has lost some of its rules initiated advantages in power. That should make C6R more competitive.
