Default Why Corvette and not Chevrolet or GM?

Noticed the Corvette flag insigna inbstead of the bowtie when Speed was doing manufacturer standings. Is GM trying to separate the Corvette as a stand alone brand instead of keeping it in the Chevrolet family? I think I've read where the Corvette is sold in stand-alone dealerships in Europe and not in Chevrolet dealerships.

Probably to emphasize the new "Corvette" DP car.
