Jerry,
In your first sentence you say Atlanta Motorsports Park. You do mean Atlanta Motor Speedway don't you?

It seems that the Roval Road Course hasn't been used in a while.
I signed up to instruct - does anyone have a line on video or a better track map with elevation changes?
I've been out to the Oval a few times so I'm ok on the banking, have seen the road course paving, and have driven the Roval at Charlotte and Nashville.

Does anyone have any tips and tricks?
Anyone seen any video?
I'll drive the first session anyway and pick it up - but as an instructor I try to get all the info I can on a new track before I go out on it.

The Tracks Unlimited guys put on a good event, I've instructed for them a couple of times.

I did it this past summer here you go http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7msVp5P9epM&sns=em

There are a few tricky areas one of them is a pretty sizeable bump at the end of a straight on the infield the car can catch air and it wants to go sideways once the tires get traction. I just lift off the throttle as I approach it. See it at 2:35

So they don't use the banking on Nascar 3 & 4 and stay on the low part of the front straight to make the left into the infield?

Are you comming out for the event? I know its a week after CMP

Well the time I ran it you came down into the infield just a smidge on 3 exiting back onto the apron just before 4, see time stamp 3:28 view in hq if you can. You then stay on the apron until just after pit row.

Cmp is too far for me to drive but I am making plans to attend this I just need to firm things up. You know one day or two, come alone or not figure expenses, leave Memphis on Friday leave atl on Sunday or Monday etc.

I sure am hoping to attend because I need a fix in a bad way and I am going to be pissed if I don't get a chance to leave some of this expensive Mpsc rubber on a genuine racetrack instead of I40

Looking forward to seeing you there. This will be a better track layout than Nashville I think. Jerry

Certainly one I would not want to miss. Since the old Rockingham is closed down, this is a rare opportunity to run some banking. Weather patterns so far this year bode very well for a good outlook.

Actually I think Nashville was more challenging but AMS is much faster and if I rememeber correctly it uses more of the oval as well.
