Default What's the reason behind your car number?

Since it's the off season and I'm too lazy to work on the car like everyone else is, I figured I'd start a lame thread about car numbers.

I figure we all have reasons behind the numbers we run.
So what significance does your car number have? Mine is pretty simple.
Birthday = 27th day of Aug and it was an old baseball number.

I've used 50 since I got my 50th Anniversary.
Wife gave me the 50th on my 50th birthday in 2002. (she's a keeper!)

My friend showed up in the paddock with #88 on his T1 racecar formerly owned by Heinrocket. I already had #88 on my T1 C5 racecar. I told him I was #88 because I rolled a racecar once ended upsidedown. I told him that #88 when upsidedown still reads #88 and that is how I chose that number. He laughed and said he will change his number. That friend is our CF buddy Chris Ronson. He is now an Interstate battery distributor so think of him next time you need a new battery.

My birthday is September 4th so 4 it was... same lame reason as you. BTW I tried to call you 2x tonight! Stupid choice... NASA MA director Chris Cobetto was already 4 as was Justin Matthews. Justin went ahead and became 41, but Chris wins out on the number. So usually when I'm racing in Thunder Group with him I'm 14.

I like 41 for no real reason. It is a number you do not see a lot. No real famous racers that I know of made it their life long number. I typically have no competition for the number at events. I guess I just like the way it looks.

My number was assigned randomly by the organizer of my first event and I have used it since. What do you mean off-season? I am busy prepping my car for two weekends later this month.

A couple of years ago when I turned 54 and I was born in 1954 I decided to use that number. I have used N THE WIND for my photography website and a lot of other things. So above the number 54 in small letters I put N THE WIND since
54
Being I'm a truck driver I've driven maybe about 3 million miles in my lifetime, and still driving !

I've used 7 from the HPDE days because it was easily made with just 2 pieces of painter's tape.

I didn't use #1 because that just seemed too prententious.

I've used 10 since 2008. Used to be 13, but my 4 yr old (in '08) wanted me to run 10, it's his favorite number.
