Default Possible FS: Kognition 76" wing.

I ordered a 76" Kognition wing a couple of weeks ago with larger endplates. Should have it soon. Maybe even next week. I'm thinking of buying a dual element wing instead. It's for autocross only. Anyone interested in buying this? $1150 plus shipping.

Keep in mind that it'll be wider than a c5 unless you have fender flares. Rules are the wing can't extend past the bodywork if i recall.

If not then go for it!

Definitely interested. Need to measure width to see if it isn't too wide for my C6Z rear.

I might have a buyer already. He has to check out a few details. I'll keep everyone up to date.

Thanks,

Isn't that probably class/organization dependant? I thought ST1 was pretty much no higher than 8" above the roofline and that was it?

Which series?

I don't remember any width restriction for ST2.

Jody... my bad... the width rule is only for PT. ST's only limitation is height.

PT rule G.3

Add, replace, or modify rear wing and/or spoiler +4 (a rear wing or spoiler may not exceed a height of eight (8) inches above the roofline (or BTM windshield height for convertibles), or a width greater than the width of the car body. (note: additional points must be assessed for end plates that are greater than twelve inches in height---G.8) below)

Heck, a 72" wing is a real pain in the azz when the car is loaded in the trailer. I can't imagine trying to get in and out of the trailer with a 76" wing.

You just have to walk around the front of the car and out of the trailer to get to the back of the trailer...or if you deside to try and crawl underneath watch out for those endplates...they're sharp lol

The widest portion of the C5 in the rear, is straight line from left to right across the license plate. If I am not mistaking, it is 67.5" wide, as confirmed by Mr. Bill for me a few months back.

If I were to do a wing as such, I would go no wider than 66" Min. - 68" Max. But that's just me.

Too bad the Kognition wing isn't more like the C5R wing, with the slight raised center.

While I don't doubt these numbers, there are wider portions on the C5, such as, the rear quarter panels (or is this taking in account the side view mirrors?)

I measured the rear section and Mr Bill was spot on.

Keep in mind, I am referring to the extreme rear fascia as if you were kneeling directly behind the fascia, dead center with the license plate. That's what we measured. It may be somewhat narrowed than the rear quarter panels as they sit over the rear tires.

I have no idea who Mr. Bill is, but the official specifications of the C5 say it is, in fact, 73.6 inches wide.

So, under those parameters, a wing couldn't exceed 73.6" to be PT compliant.

Jody,

If you get a wider wing, you will have to put blinking lights on it!
