First trackday at Inde Motorsports Ranch
I did my first ever road course event at Inde Motorsports Ranch in Willcox Arizona. It was a blast! My car only has 4500 miles on it, so I left the stock brake pads in and it has base model brakes. For prep I put in Motul RBF 600 brake fluid and stainless brake lines. My wheels are the light weight TSW Interlagos with 245/40-18 and 275/35-19 NT05's. By the end of the day I was getting brake fade and I could really smell the brakes. The NT05's howled pretty good, but didn't increase in pitch before they broke loose. I think I will put on a 265 front and 305 rear when these current tires are done. I started the pressure at 30psi cold and at the end of a 20 minute session they were at 39psi. My oil temp reached 275F, but since my car is a base model I have no oil cooler(yet). One of the guys I went with took some high res pics, so I'm hoping to get those soon to post.

Oh yeah, we ran it clockwise and followed the blue line in the pic. Turn 5 you actually can't see. You go up a hill and have to brake before the crest. Then start turning as you crest. Toward the end of the day I was drifting that corner on accident. Turn 16 is also at the crest of a hill. I had a telephone pole to reference that allowed me to go full throttle accross the crest to line up for turn 17. Luckily I didn't go off track. One scary moment was when a guy about 40 feet in front of me started going sideways.

Welcome to the ADDICTION !!!! I would recommend a good set of track brake pads prior to the next outing. They will go a long way towards keeping a firm pedal through the event. Watch your oil temps as you get faster, a cooler will eventually be needed. Concentrate on seat time before you start adding other go fast goodies. The nut behind the wheel offers the greatest potential for improving performance.

I'm not worried about more power. I didn't even use what I had yesterday. The track is at 4000+ ft elevation also. Barometric pressure was only 87kpa during the event. That in itself means I had less power than at my home elevation of 1100ft and 96-98kpa.

Jon,
Glad you had a great time! Inde is an awesome track. I can't encourage you enough to join the great bunch of guys and gals at ACR. Let me know if you still want those hawk brakes pads I got. Welcome to the addiction

when I run NT05's I start them at 28 psi, if I start any higher the tires get pretty greasy as they heat up. The 28 keeps them relatively stable throughout the change in temp.
