Is that Matt Connelly's old Corvette? Looks identical and sounds like it probably is.

Matt's car was Crawford built, I am guessing that this is one of the Sahlen's Cars.

The Corvette is getting $0.27 back on the dollar. The Viper is getting $0.23 back on the dollar. I remember the day when you could get about half your money back. Oh well. Things do change.

My guess is Team Sahlen took the first part of the hit.

Does anyone know what Class this car would be eligible for SCCA Club Racing?

I assume NASA guys it would be ST-Unlimited, but I don't run NASA...

The Grand-am spec porsche 997 GT3 Cup car is classed SCCA GT-1....

Depends on power to weight ratio, but my guess is that LS6 is putting down some good power, plus the sequential boxs and all.

ST1 more than likely for NASA & SCCA should be STO with restrictor I believe.

Don't think you can run STO with a tube frame.

Your right, I over looked the tube frame part. Then they would have to run GT1 and there is no way it can be competitive if there are real Trans Am type cars running.

Example: Tony Ave C6 GT1/TA car

For GT-1

Would have to switch to 16" wheels and tires,
sequential gearbox is questionable
motor might be legal, rules say LS1 with stock throttle body/manifold......LS6 is just basically a LS1 with Cam, and head casting number change.

will fit in SCCA SPO and in 2012 V8 StockCar V8 GT2

Rolex LS6's are just blueprinted, all forged stock LS6 with headers
about 420 HP to the wheels Grand Am claims No ported heads, cams or raised compression

Despite the HP difference some Rolex GT's run amazingly quick lap times.

Joe Koenig running his BMW last year in STO I thought was a tube frame car??? Maybe Dave "buckeye z06" with his Viper can chime in, or Mike "Short-Throw"

Seems pretty cheap for a full race prepped VIPER. I am not sure you get a stock one for that. For that price, it could make a decent back up HPDE car for my vette.

Heck of a deal for sure, but what happens when the motor eventually
goes BOOM or god forbid a off track accident?

How much for a competitive replacement motor/rebuild, $20-25K????? I would imagine parts are twice the cost we are spending now for the Vettes.
