Default Best timing chain option???

Single? Double? Adjustable? Katechs C5R?

Hey guys, looking for opinions on chains and suggestions of vendors..

This is for a LS6 383 Stroker.

Once again I have to pull out my motor, this time to replace the crank due to a bad reluctor wheel. When putting the motor back in I will be replacing the rod bearings and the timing chain..

Sooooo...what chain? and where? and if you feel generous, maybe tell me why you are suggesting it

Thanks
Steve

I've had good luck with a cloyes hex-a-just. I really didn't need the adjustment, but it is what I ended up with.

LS2 chain for me. It's like $30 and far beefier than the old LS6 chain. I believe the LS2 part is now the only replacement chain available i.e. you can't get the old LS1/LS6 chain anymore. I'm not planning on spinning the motor over 6600 so I didn't feel the need to spend $300 on a timing chain.

We stock both the Katech chain and Comp adjustable timing sets. Both work great.

Thanks for the replies guys, looks like a C5R chain is the way to go. Seth, can you ship to Canada? via USPS NOT UPS or Fedex? They kill us with broker fees.

C5Rx5.

Doubles are not necessary, and add complexity to something that doesn't need to be complex, in order to function correctly.
