Default Grand Sport Questions

I have just begun researching the 2012 GS Coupe. I hope to replace my 08 Z51 Coupe this spring with a GS. I run Bridgestone RE-11s (on stock wheels) for auto-x cross and High Speed NCCC track events.

1.Will the stock wheels from my 08 fit on the GS?

2.Did GM make any changes to the paddle shift auto trans softwear on the 2012 model?

The 08 coupe has the paddle shift but I am disappointed with the shift speeds.

If you can buy the Manual GS. The Manual comes with trans, and oil coolers. The A6 does not.

The manual also comes with the dry sump.

I just got one, and we have a couple of C5, so I can speak to this.
1) They should. It's the same hub.
2) Dear god, why would you get an automatic when the GS manual comes with a dry sump? The auto is a costly option (1600, I think?) and is an auto. I don't know if they changed it since 2009.

In relation to the C6s I've driven, this one seems to go faster. Faster off the line, faster up top, faster from 100 to 130. There's just more HP there.

Thanks for the information, I agree the manual trans is the way to go (except those days I am stuck in heavy traffic) and the dry sump is reason enough to go with three pedals, the cost savings is a bonus.
I am surprised at the lack selection and the high cost of tires and wheels for the GS, I have several sets of tires and wheels for my 08 and hope to use them if I don't have brake clearance issues. I see that the GS picked up 100 lbs more than the C-6 Coupe. I expect most of that is dry sump, brakes and tires.

The GS will have the same offset as the Z06..... so the standard coupe wheels will nit work very well and may not clear the brakes too.

Just my .02

The GS has the same body work dimensions and brakes as the Z06 so base coupe wheels won't clear the brakes.

Looks like I will be selling some wheels and rotors when the time comes!
Probably do another season on the 08 to use up current tire inventory then trade late in the year.
Thanks to all for the information!
