Yes, you can say that both of those drivers are going to hurt in the pocket book and body once they stop moving. Don't think that I have ever seen a total wheel disintegration like that before !

My right front did the same at a buck thirtyfive when I touched the brakes at the shut down markers going into turn 1 at Thunderhill. You become a passenger instantly.

I have cracked spokes on wheels three times.
I now have on my Pre-run Checklist to check for cracked spokes and rotors, amongst other items.

CCW Classics. I've seen three CCW failures and all were pre 2006 wheels that had seen long hard lives on the track. In 2006 CCW changed the design, metallurgy, and surface finish making the newer centers nearly twice as strong and far less susceptible to fatigue. Aluminum whether forged, cast, or created by a magic spell starts fatiguing the day it's born. All wheels have a useful life span that's determined by their use and abuse. I'm currently running 2010 CCW Centers that will be swapped out in 2016.

If you listen when you drive you can hear when the crack. You will hear the tap of the crack opening and snapping shut under high load in corners.

Crazy... will make sure to inspect my wheels more closely now. I have 2 sets of Z06 18x10.5 Alcoas and just picked up a set of 18x9.5 Grand Sport front wheels to try 245s in light of Hoosier's new ruling on 255s.
