Looking at the 2008 manual Vette stock tune, I see a "oil starvation" enable/disable switch. It's on the same tab as other protection features such as power hop, etc.
Anyone know what this oil starvation mode does? HP Tuners help is silent on this.
I can guess that if the oil pressure falls before a certain pressure for a certain amount of time it cuts engine power...like limp mode...but it'd be interesting to know for sure.

Hmmm. Maybe the LS3 isn't so bad after all. Somebody just forgot to turn off the
"oil starvation" switch in the tune. Now Chris can keep his T1 car.

When it detects the drop in pressure it is already too late. When in gear the engine will experience heavy loading under throttle at high rpm or closed throttle at high rpm.

Got a good answer from Carl on c6 tech.
I'm going to start logging oil pressure to see how mine looks.

if you log oil pressure, and log at the track you will notice that oil psi drops like a rock during any hard launch or long cornering (unless you have a dry sump)
here is an example.
the bottom blue line is my oil pressure throughout the run. its about 25 at idle(hot) and 40-50 tops.
cuts the fuel/spark if it goes below something like 5psi for a certain amount of seconds. ive seen lots of stalled auto f-bodies spin bearings b/c they launch so hard, so they have to run an extra quart (just like our manuals state if tracking)

p.s. that was only a 1.66 60 ft and oil psi dropped to 16.
